    • We have finished most of the development on the new Special:NewLexeme page. You can try it at https://wikidata.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Special:NewLexemeAlpha. We will make this available on Wikidata for testing with real-world data on July 14th.
    • We are continuing to work on the new search profile for languages to make setting the language of a new Lexeme easier (phab:T307869)
  • REST API: We are putting finishing touches on the first version of the API route to add statements to an Item. It is still lacking support for automated edit summaries.
  • We are working on word-level diffs to make it easier to see what changed in an edit (phab:T303317)
  • We are investigating the issue of labels not being shown after some merges (phab:T309445)

Hallo Ordercrazy, "order" heisst im Englischen ja nicht nur "Bestellung", sondern auch "Ordnung" ;-) - und um der lieben Ordnung willen möchte ich um etwas bitten: Du hast ein Foto für den Artikel Mick Schnelle besorgt und offenbar die Genehmigung seines Bruders Martin dafür erhalten. Das ist wunderbar und ich danke für die Mühe. Aber die Beschreibung auf Commons ist verwirrend: Du verlinkst dort den Urheber Martin Schnelle mit deinem Benutzernamen, was auf Commons normalerweise als "der bin ich" zu lesen ist - bist du aber ausweislich deiner Benutzerseite ja offenbar nicht. Könntest du vielleicht doch noch der üblichen Freigabe-Prozedur folgen und den Bruder, wenn er der Rechteinhaber ist, eine Bildfreigabe senden lassen und die Bildbeschreibung anpassen? Das muss nicht sofort sein, ich würde ihn in diesen Tagen der Trauer auch nicht unnötig behelligen wollen, aber vielleicht noch irgendwann in diesem Jahr? Hallo Ordercrazy!

Wir laden Dich hiermit recht herzlich zu unserem Weihnachtsstammtisch nach Augsburg ein.

Wir treffen uns um 15:45 Uhr zum Vorprogramm vor dem Grafischen Kabinett, Maximilianstraße 48. Dort gibt es die kleine Ausstellung „Johann Philipp Thelott – Von Augsburg nach Frankfurt“. Um 16 Uhr bietet sich die Möglichkeit, bei einer kostenlosen Turnus-Führung durch die Ausstellung mitzumachen.

Anschließend können wir die Zeit bis zum Abendessen auf dem Weihnachtsmarkt verbringen. Um 18:00 Uhr sind wir zum Stammtisch im Wirtshaus unter dem Bogen, Unter dem Bogen 4 angemeldet. Dort ist ein Tisch für 8 Personen reserviert (Anzahl kann bei Bedarf erhöht werden).

Wenn auch Du dabei sein möchtest, melde Dich bitte auf WP:Augsburg an, damit wir besser planen können. Falls Ihr jemanden mitbringen wollt, tragt die Anzahl der Personen dort bitte mit ein. Gerne kannst Du bei der Anmeldung auch Diskussionswünsche dazuschreiben, die wir dann bereden können.

    • Removed the gif that showed on hover over the button that advertises the Query Builder to make it less annoying (phab:T296135)

  • Writing SPARQL queries can be very challenging. You can find inspiration by browsing and searching in this dataset of 2,400 queries collected from Wikidata. (source)
  • The French Wikipedia now uses a Wikidata-based list for the pages on specific dates, without relying on ListeriaBot. Who was born on a December 19th and has an article in French? You now can have the answer thanks to a Wikidata query by going to the page 1er décembre on frwiki and clicking on the infobox link "Naissances du jour". This is a link to a Wikidata list provided by the query service. The query is generated by the template fr:Modèle:Naissances un jour du mois. This follows another such template used to find all persons with a certain surname on frwiki, used on all surnames pages and on some disambiguation pages, fr:Modèle:Liste des personnes ou_personnages par prénom. For the surname Victor (Q539581) (view with Reasonator, SQID) this generates on the page w:fr:Victor_(prénom) a query such as this one.
  • Wikidata now has more than 100,000,000 items! Exactly which item was the 100 millionth is unknown as of writing, but there are some clues for anyone who wants to dig into it.
