English: LNER Gresley P1 class 2-8-2 no. 2393 at peterborough's New England shed on 24/2/1935. No. 2393 and sister engine 2394 were both built at Doncaster works in 1925 and spent there entire working lives allocated to New England mpd. Both locos had their boosters removed in 1937 and were equipped with new A3 boilers in 1942 but that didn't save them from withdrawal in July 1945.
