Skoda 9Tr No. 206. When it was deployed in Tallinn in 1983, it was new to TTTK (Tallinna Trammi-ja Trollibussikoondis), but one of the last of the 9Tr models deployed in the city. No. 206 was finally withdrawn from service in 1999.^[1] By the year 2000, all the remaining 9Tr trolleys were decommissioned. In 1996, only about ten were in operation, including the venerable 92-numbered two-door model.

In the background:

• the "Estonia" theatre and concert building;
• Hotel Viru. In 1996, the lower floors of the building housed
  • the "Stockmann" department store (sign at the top of the high-rise);
  • and the Carrols fast food restaurant.

The Carrols brand did not last very long. Either the Carrols restaurant left, or was converted into a Finnish-owned Hesburger restaurant. (For a while, Hesburger operated Carrols-branded fast food restaurants in Finland, but eventually converted nearly all of them to Hesburgers.)

• Further back stands the "Teenindusmaja" building (eng.lit. Service House), which throughout 2002/2003 was reconstructed and converted into a hotel.
