Dear Benutzer(s),

I am very sorry to write in English but my German is a shame. (I am a Polish-South American and I don’t know how to write the plural of Benutzer properly, as you can see). There are 10 different noble-families which have the same surname Wierzbicki, each of them entitled to 10 different Polish coats of arms: Wierzbicki h. Gryf, Jastrzębiec, Leliwa, Lubicz, Nałęcz, Nieczuja, Pilawa, Prus I, Radwan and Ślepowron. Please see the “index/herbyszlacheckie_w.htm” in Ornatowski.com as source.

So, to which Coat of arm is the “Corvin-Wierzbitzky” family (Korwin-Wierzbicki, properly) entitled? The answer is in the name itself: “Corvin or Korwin”.

Nevertheless we got another matter, “Korwin, or Corvin, or Corvinus” is a name which is shared by two Polish coats of arms, Herb Korwin properly and Herb Ślepowron (Korwin coat of arms is a 16th century variation of the 13th century Ślepowron coat of arms). In Polish armorial Korwin-Wierzbicki is considered as a family entitled to Ślepowron coat of arms (Korwin-Wierzbicki herbu Ślepowron - or just, Wierzbicki h. Ślepowron - in Polish).

Consequently I did the changes in Otto von Corvin, Wierzbicki and Jastrzębiec (Wappengemeinschaft) and edited this same message at the three Diskussion/discussion pages.

Zu Lebensabend, Alter

Wenn sein Geburtsdatum (12. Oktober 1812) und sein Sterbedatum (1. März 1886) stimmen, starb er nicht im Alter von 74, sondern im Alter von 73 Jahren.

Name

Die polnische Herkunft ist m.E. im Artikel ausreichend dargestellt und auch der volle Name ist genannt. Auf seinem Grabstein und in seinen Büchern ist er Corvin genannt und unter diesem Namen ist er auch bekannt. --Zieglhar (Diskussion) 11:24, 7. Jun. 2018 (CEST)
