wissenschaftliche Buchreihe des Instituts für Afrikastudien der Universität Bayreuth
Die Bayreuth African Studies Series (Abk. BASS) sind eine von Eckhard Breitinger (1940–2013) am Institut für Afrikastudien der Universität Bayreuth begründete, herausgegebene und verlegte wissenschaftliche Buchreihe zu Fragen afrikanischer Literatur, Linguistik, Musik, Theater, Soziologie, Religionen und Kulturen Afrikas. Afrikawissenschaftlern und afrikanischen Wissenschaftlern wurde darin gleichermaßen ein Forum geboten. Die Reihe erscheint seit 1984. Derzeit umfasst sie etwa 100 Monographien und Sammelbände (2013).
