Diese Seite beschreibt meine Sicht auf die Integration von KDE
BearbeitenProblem I see
BearbeitenArtikelsuche / Searching for articles
BearbeitenSearching for "Filter", but the WP-name is "Filter_(chemical)". In Kalzium (static content) we could somehow work around this with attributes in the xml-file. But what about applications like amaroK? There most lookups have an unknown content (Artist-names, Albums-names and so on).
- at amarok: I was assured on the Wikimania that names like Coldplay are everywhere the same, even in Chinese. Those languages map redirects to the articles with the chinese writing
- at kalzium: It seems there is no solution. We need to map from english to other articles in a KDE-internal file. This is an extra burden for translators... We could use KDE-HotNewStuff for it, I guess.
Disambiguation
BearbeitenFor cases where the search results in a Disambiguation-page (for example Filter and en:Filter) we should make use of context. Examples:
- amaroK (music-player) is of course only searching for musical content. So at least the context-word "music" is sure.
- Kalzium is a chemical application. So words like "chemistry" or "science" are obvious
- KStars is an astronomy-application. "physics" "sun" "star" and so on come to my mind
There are two different situations when a lookup happens:
- Static content like in Kalzium. The words are selected by the author of the app (me), therefore they are or can be handselected (eg the developer takes care that searchable articles are really existing).
- Nonstatic content like in amarok: The lookups can be for example the names of bands or albums. Here it is important to add context.
- Brion told me this won't work...
