Trio Bienal 2015
BearbeitenTRIO Bienal 2015, Untertitel Bienal Tridimensional Intern'l do Rio 2015, auf Deutsch Dreidimensionale Internationale Biennale Rio 2015 war eine internationale Kunstausstellung, welche in den Monaten September bis November 2015 in Rio de Janeiro, Brasilien, stattfand.[1] Es waren über 160 Künstler aus 44 Nationen daran beteiligt. [2] The focus was on contemporary art around the three-dimensional in his classic scope – sculpture, installations and objects. All of its expanded fields were also included – painting, photography, drawing, video and other medias as three-dimensional research. The exhibitions took place at museums and famous locations in Rio de Janeiro. Executive-Director was Alexandre Murucci.[3]
The TRIO bienal took place in 2015 as a special event belonging to the 450th anniversary of Rio de Janeiro. It is supposed to become a biennial similar to the São Paulo Art Biennial.[4][5] The curatorial board was in charge of Marcus de Lontra Costa, the former director of the Museum of Modern Art, Rio de Janeiro. More than 160 artists from 44 countries took part.[6] The theme of the TRIO Bienial 2015 was “Who said tomorrow doesn’t exist ?”. This is a sentence from a lyrics of the contemporary Brazilian rapper Marcelo D2. The main show was located at the Vargas Memorial and had the title "Utopias – Pretéritos da Contemporaneidade – Utopia – Preterites of Contemporarity". It was a show with three-dimensional works of political or social focus.[7][8][9][10]

Joseph Klibansky, Felippe Moraes, Joana Vasconcelos, Xavier Veilhan, Marepe, Joseph Kosuth, Han Ho, Eliane Prolik, Diango Hernandez, Rodolpho Parigi,Marina Abramovic, the multi-disciplinary artist Anna Bella Geiger, Los Carpinteros, Vik Muniz, Daniel Buren, a French conceptual artist, Regina Silveira and Marcelo Silveira. [14]. The former participitians of the Venice Biennale Susan Mains and Asher Mains, Guiseppe Linardi from Italy.[15]. Also Marc Schmitz from Germany [16] Fabio Carvalho, Maria Nepomuceno [17] and many more.[18]
Locations of exhibitions and events
BearbeitenThe exhibitions and events took place at several locations. The opening ceremony was at Oscar Niemeyer Cultural Center – FGV Fundação Getúlio Vargas [19]. [20] and the title of the opening event was Celebrating Franz Weissmann and included a formal sitting with the show of works by Franz Weissmann, celebrating the artist. Franz Weissmann was an artist born in Austria who emigrated to Brazil in the early 1920's and then became an important sculptor. The Getúlio Vargas Memorial was the exhibition place for Utopia – Preterites of Contemporarity. At the IED – Instituto Europeo de Design RJ there was a show called Reverberations – Crossed Borders of Three-dimensionality.[21][22] [23][24]. At the CCBB – Bank of Brazil Cultural Centre there was the show Form and Matter – Three-dimensional Boundaries in Expanded Field as well as the Performance Levitation by Rodolpho Parigi.[25] In Santa Teresa there were events to the theme of Gravity both at the Castro Maya Museum and the Parque das Ruinas Cultural Center.
The National Museum of Fine Arts hosted the exhibition Reflections on the Reflex – Dynamics of the three-dimensional Cinetisme [26] [27] [28] and the National Historical Museum Transversalities of Tropical Identities.[29] The TRIO Parallels at the Castro Maya Museum invited the grande dame of Branzilian contemporary art Regina Silveira, whos show was titled “Spellings and Embroideries”.[30]
