Digitale Allmende

Hallo Guaka,

mir scheint, Dein Eintrag zum Thema "Die Tragödie der Allmende" hinkt ein wenig. Im Gegensatz zum öffentlichen Gut, das in Hardins Essay beschrieben ist, ist Softwarequellcode ja gerade nicht endlich vorhanden. Er läßt sich unendlich vervielfältigen - insofern kann natürlich auch der von Hardin beschriebene Mechanismus darauf nicht angewandt werden.

Drum würde ich empfehlen, den Satz wieder zu streichen.

was hältst Du davon den folgenden Absatz aus dem amerikanischen Wikipedia-Eintrag The Tragedy Of The Commons zu übersetzen?

Many people argue that the 'tragedy of the commons' principle does not apply in the digital world, because sharing information and software with other people does not decrease the amount that is available for others. Indeed, as the writer Eric S. Raymond, in an essay called The Magic Cauldron [1] (http://www.catb.org/~esr/writings/cathedral-bazaar/magic-cauldron/) has pointed out, in the case of open source software more widespread use actually tends to increase the usefulness of a product — the more people that are finding and correcting bugs, the better it is for everybody. Raymond has described this process as the inverse commons (see also: network effect). A similar process may be observed in collaborative, open content projects like the Wikipedia encyclopedia.

Schönen Guten Tag, Hier wird über die Löschung von Wikipedia:WikiProjekt Selbstreflexion der Wikipedia diskutiert, zudem mit der allgemeinen Begründung, eine Selbstbetrachtung sei sinnlos, esoterisch und der gleichen. Da du an der Seite mitgearbeitet hast, und mit verweis aufWikipedia:Wikipedistik, dachte ich das könnte dich interessieren und du sprichts dich vieleicht gegen eine Löschung aus.
