Sorry for writing in english, I am dutch and translating the lemma into dutch. In the translation I stumbled across the following oddity: In the syntheses starting with an acetic ester and propeneoxide, 2-hydroxy-5-hexanon is mentioned as one of the nintermediates. As far as I am aware, the functional group gouverning the stemname, in this case the keton, should recieve the lowest number, so the name of the compound should be: 5-hydroxy-2-hexanon, or a german equivalent of it. Who knows the rules? T.vanschaik (Diskussion) 15:33, 2. Mai 2013 (CEST)
- of course you are right! The rules are needless to say from the IUPAC and you can find them there, or in some other sources e.g. http://www-organik.praktika.chemie.uni-wuerzburg.de//uebung-op1/nomenklatur-regeln-ws08.pdf --Elrond (Diskussion) 15:19, 16. Nov. 2015 (CET)
