Ranulf's daughter

Bearbeiten

Hello,

I see my edits have been deleted. According to many 18th- and 19th-century French historians, as well as British historian Michael Jones, Margaret, wife of Geoffrey of Rohan, was the daughter of Constance of Brittany and her third husband Guy of Thouars. I wrote about this on Constance of Brittany's related pages in English, French, Italian, Spanish, Catalan and German. British historian Judith Everard says Ranulf had no issue through his marriages to both Constance and Clemence and thinks he may have been sterile. I think the first source claiming that Margaret was Ranulf's daughter is Europäische Stammtafeln, but no primary source confirming this theory exists as far as I know. Of course, if somebody finds a source indicating that she was Ranulf's daughter, I won't argue.

Also, according to most sources, Ranulf and Cosntance's wedding is dated February 1188 or 1189, not 1187.--Aziliz Breizh (Diskussion) 16:28, 26. Jan. 2017 (CET)Beantworten

Thank you TeleD, and sorry for my last edit. Here are the main sources I use:
  • Judith Everard and Michael Jones, The Charters of Duchess Constance of Brittany and her Family (1171-1221).
  • Judith Everard, Brittany and the Angevins, Province and Empire (1156-1203).
  • The article on Constance of Brittany, by M. Jones in the Oxford Dictionary of National Dictionary.
  • Also, the website Medieval Lands, hosted by the Foundation for Medieval Genealogy. Some users don't consider it a "professionnal" source but the author uses primary sources as well as secondary and tertiary sources that are used in other serious publications.--Aziliz Breizh (Diskussion) 13:08, 27. Without proving all sources - thank you! ODNB calls February 1189, so I think I could agree 1188 or 1189. Greetings, TeleD (Diskussion) 13:57, 27. Jan. 2017 (CET)Beantworten
