Beide Quellen beziehen die drei Fünftel des Mondes auf die width - nicht die Höhe. Wer blickt durch? --sj 19:32, 30. Nov. 2019 (CET)

Das ist schön einzeln alles aufgeschlüsselt:

• The flag of the Republic is a golden-yellow full moon slightly off-centered on a field of sky-blue.
• The width of the flag bears the ratio to its length of 1.0 to 1.6.
  • => Bei einer Lieklänge von 1 ist die auswehende Länge 1.6 der Breite – die Proportionen sind also 5:8
• The diameter of the moon bears the ratio to the width of the flag of 0.6 to 1.0.
  • => Der Durchmesser des Mondes entspricht 0.6 der Lieklänge (bei Lieklänge = 1.)
• The distance from the side of the flag nearest the mast or staff to the center of the moon bears the ratio to the width of 0.7 to 1.0.
  • => Die Mitte des Mondes beträgt 0.7 der Lieklänge
• The distances from the top and bottom of the flag to the center of the moon are equal.
  • => Der Mond ist in der Vertikalen gemittet.

Die Konstruktionsvorlage benutzt ganze Zahlen; die Lieklänge entspricht dann 10 (statt 1). "Width" entspricht der Lieklänge (worauf sich dann alle Zahlen beziehen) – und somit der Breite (und nicht der Länge) – und das ist dasselbe wie die von Dir bezeichnete „Höhe“. Nun alles klar?
