Earl Spencer (1835–1910), als Dauer-Leihgabe an die University of Manchester und bildet dort den Grundstock der John Rylands Library.» This is not true: the major part of the library was sold in 1892 to Enriqueta Augustina Rylands: the John Rylands Library was opened in 1900 and only became part of the University of Manchester in 1972.
