Hello, I am the director of the film NORTH BY CURRENT and this page is not about the film at all, it is about the tragedy my family experienced. Personal suffering does not warrant a wikipedia page, last time I checked.
The film NORTH BY CURRENT does not go into any of these tragic details for good reason: to not put the people who experienced them in the path of more harm. Please, remove this page (which is both inaccurate and inflammatory) and replace it with something that is about the actual film - of which there is plenty of information available from reputable press sources (below), and a fully informative website: http://www.northbycurrent.com

NORTH BY CURRENT is a visual rumination on the understated relationships between mothers and children, truths and myths, losses and gains. After the inconclusive death of his young niece, filmmaker Angelo Madsen Minax returns to his rural Michigan hometown, preparing to make a film about the family's police persecution. Instead, he pivots to excavate the depths of generational addiction, Christian fervor, and trans embodiment. Lyrically assembled images, decades of home movies, and ethereal narration form an idiosyncratic and poetic undertow that guide a viewer through lifetimes and relationships.
