Hello, I am the director of the film NORTH BY CURRENT and this page is not about the film at all, it is about the tragedy my family experienced. Personal suffering does not warrant a wikipedia page, last time I checked.

The film NORTH BY CURRENT does not go into any of these tragic details for good reason: to not put the people who experienced them in the path of more harm. Please, remove this page (which is both inaccurate and inflammatory) and replace it with something that is about the actual film - of which there is plenty of information available from reputable press sources (below), and a fully informative website: http://www.northbycurrent.com

Rolling Stone - https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/movie-lists/best-movies-of-2021-1269702/ "...A beautiful, complex wonder of a film."

New York Times - https://www.nytimes.com/2021/11/04/movies/north-by-current-review.html "There is an alchemy here... a cosmic perspective."

Criterion - https://criterioncast.com/festivals/tribeca/tribeca-film-festival-2021-film-festival-preview

"...A breathless evocation for an entire class of Americans lost in the periphery... A titanic work."

The Brooklyn Rail - https://brooklynrail.org/2021/10/film/Angelo-Madsen-Minaxs-North-By-Current "...the slippery place... where death and rebirth can be held in the same breath... In Minax’s hands, grief becomes sculptural, layered, mutable." And more: BOMB Magazine Unseen Films MovieMarker UK Filmmaker Magazine Reverse Shot San Francisco Bay Times Boston Globe Detroit Free Press Variety Hammer To Nail (Interview) Seventh Row (Interview) Hey You Guys (Interview)

For your ease, I will include the film's official synopsis:

NORTH BY CURRENT is a visual rumination on the understated relationships between mothers and children, truths and myths, losses and gains. After the inconclusive death of his young niece, filmmaker Angelo Madsen Minax returns to his rural Michigan hometown, preparing to make a film about the family's police persecution. Instead, he pivots to excavate the depths of generational addiction, Christian fervor, and trans embodiment. Lyrically assembled images, decades of home movies, and ethereal narration form an idiosyncratic and poetic undertow that guide a viewer through lifetimes and relationships. Like the relentless Michigan seasons, the meaning of family shifts, as Madsen, his sister, and his parents strive tirelessly to accept each other. Poised to incite more internal searching than provide clear statements or easy answers, NORTH BY CURRENT dives head first into the challenges of creating identity, the agony of growing up, and the ever-fickle nuances of family. Hey hey, I just removed the synopsis for the reasons you have stated above. The plot description, as it was there now, might harm personality rights. Benutzer:IgorCalzone1, maybe you can react or change the plot description in a way that it reflects the film? --Shikeishu (Diskussion) 15:13, 25. Jan. 2022 (CET)Beantworten
