Cross wiki spamming

Re: Löschdiskussion um François Asselineau

Hello,

I apologize to have to write in English here.

The corresponding French article is currently being discussed for deletion, after having been deleted by a very strong majority two years ago.

The key points of this discussion are :

  • there exist now some secondary sources, and some of them focus on him, such as the article in Marianne (typically), and now On n'est pas couché on France 2 (10 days ago), with these comments;
  • however, independant sources of good standing are still rare. So, because François Asselineau has a cyber activist team (about 100 people, headed by Marvin Leroy), spamming and non neutral additions keep coming in large numbers, and even on the French Wikipédia, we fear not to be able to contain it to maintain a balanced article.
    The cross wiki spamming - with over 90 stubs created by François Asselineau's Internet activists (a lot of which have now been deleted) - is proof of this Internet activism; hence the fear that neutral, balanced articles will be extremely difficult to maintain; even the English article is strongly biased, with favorable facts expatiated upon, and negative points "forgotten".

So, the current discussion on the French "deletion page" (AfD) centers on this : are the existing sources strong enough to resist spamming and non neutral additions?

For the time being, a majority believe the notability of François Asselineau is not enough to take the risk.

As for the English article - often used to consider that the subject is notable, because there are sources and it looks neutral - it just does not comply with en:WP:UNDUE, as it blows small facts out of all proportion while "forgetting" to mention much more important ones.
For instance, nearly all cross wiki spams insist that Asselineau was a "declared candidate" in the 2012 French presidential elections: no, he "declared" to the medias that he wanted to be a candidate, which is not quite the same thing.
On the other hand, no mention at all was ever made (before I did) that his small notability was due to extreme Internet activism, with a dedicated team active on all medias (including Wikipédia). For instance, Asselineau was invited on the French entertainment (entertainment, not political) program, On n'est pas couché, only after his Internet team harassed Laurent Ruquier for a full year with "heaps and heaps and heaps" of tweets and other Internet messages requesting that Asselineau be invited (mentioned by Laurent Ruquier himself at 2' 10" in the video). Same of course on the French Wikipédia. You may also be interested to read Laurent de Boissieu's opinion about the harassment of most journalists by François Asselineau. So that this harassment strategy is common knowledge in France.

Be aware that this is by far the worst case of POV-pushing I have witnessed on the French Wikipedia since I arrived (in 2008), with - among other things - 97 stubs created on Wikipedia at large (75 have now been deleted); this in itself being proof of Asselineau's Intenet activism. I can provide more information, or answer question, but only in English (or in French, or in Spanish, but I am not sure it would help  ;-)...).

By the way, I just found out that my additions to the English article have been deleted by the key editor of the article... It comes as no surprise at all, of course, but it just goes to show how difficult it will be to arrive at a neutral English article, complying with en:WP:UNDUE as one is entitled to expect. You may compare this to the French article (currently reasonably neutral), to which close to 100 editors have contributed. Azurfrog (Diskussion) 15:18, 6. Okt. 2014 (CEST)Beantworten

--Stauffen (Diskussion) 12:00, 15. Mai 2019 (CEST)Beantworten
