Abstract
BearbeitenThis workshop aims to bring together practitioners from different Wikibase projects who use federated queries for data presentation. Attendees will have the opportunity to share their experiences, including the challenges and pain points they face in implementing and utilizing federated queries. We will address specific needs and contexts of those who work with marginalised knowledge and data, with the aim to empower a more equitable and diverse use of Wikibase technologies.
The insights gathered will serve as the foundation for improving the existing documentation on federated queries, ensuring it better addresses the needs of the community, as well as enabling users who represent marginalised knowledge to make use of federated queries. The event will feature presentations and discussions designed to foster collaboration and problem-solving.
The workshop will take place in person on the 5th and 6th of December 2024 in Munich, with hybrid participation options for off-site attendees. All sessions will be recorded and made available on Wikimedia Commons for future reference and broader community access.
We invite everyone involved in Wikibase projects, data querying, and those seeking to amplify marginalised knowledge to join us for this collaborative event.
